Common questions

Does it work without signal?

Yes. Everything is on your phone. The clock uses real time, so locking the screen, taking a call or force-quitting the app doesn’t lose a second. Syncing catches up when you’re back on wi-fi.

I recorded the wrong scorer. Can I fix it?

Yes, at any point — during the match, on the drive home, or three weeks later. Open the match, tap Edit events, and change it. Every stat is worked out from the events, so the season table corrects itself.

Why can’t I change the starting lineup once we’ve kicked off?

Because every substitution you’ve recorded was written against it. Once the match has started, change who’s on from the match screen instead — that way the minutes stay right.

How do substitutions work?

Tap the player coming on, then tap the player coming off. Dragging one onto the other does the same thing. Dragging one player on the pitch onto another swaps their positions.

Someone turned up late.

Put them in Not available before kick-off. When they arrive, bring them on as normal — the half they missed won’t count against their share of the minutes.

Can my assistant coach use it too?

Yes. Settings → your team → Coaching staff → Invite. A team pass covers up to five coaches and managers including you, and the people you invite don’t buy anything. You’ll get a link to send however you like.

During a match, one phone runs it: whoever kicks off. Everyone else on the staff sees it on their own phone, updating as it syncs, and if that phone dies, one tap takes it over. Everyone can edit the match afterwards.

How much does it cost?

The price is per team. Teams of 4 a side and under are free. Every other team has its own pass: A$17.99 a year for 5 to 7 a side, or A$29.99 a year for 8 to 11 a side (A$3.49 or A$5.99 monthly), with the first month free. Two teams means two passes. One pass covers up to five coaches and managers on that team. Stats, player cards and exports are free whether or not a pass is running.

Founding price: passes started in the first three months after launch are A$14.99 and A$24.99 a year (A$2.99 and A$4.99 monthly), and stay at that price for as long as the pass keeps renewing.

What does Apple Intelligence do in Minutes FC?

On an iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence, with it turned on, two things. Before a match, open Worth a look under the lineup: it reads your team’s own numbers — form, the record against this opponent, cards and bans, clean sheets, minutes — and picks out what stands out. After full time, Write the match report on the match page turns the result, the stats and your own notes into a newspaper-style report to share.

It all runs on your device, so nothing is sent anywhere and it works without signal. It’s only given your team’s real numbers, and every fact it mentions can be checked in the app. Other phones still get the key numbers and a ready-made report.

How does a player see their own stats?

Open the player and tap Share player card. You’ll see the card exactly as they will. Send the invitation however you like — to the player, or to a parent for a junior. When they open it on an iPhone or iPad, the card appears in Minutes FC for free and updates itself after every match you finish. It holds only that player’s own games. Anyone not on iPhone can be sent the card as a picture instead.

I play for two teams.

Ask each coach for your card. In Minutes FC, open My players; when two cards have the same name you’ll be asked whether they’re the same player, and together they make one career across both teams and every season. Neither club sees the other’s card.

What happens at the end of the season?

Settings → Seasons → Start next season. It keeps the team, the players and every match you’ve recorded, and asks who’s staying and what numbers they’re wearing. Last season stays exactly as it was played.

Can I get my data out?

Settings → Data. Export your players and matches as a spreadsheet, or everything as raw JSON — that file holds every event of every match, which is what all the stats are worked out from. Nothing is left behind.

I changed phones.

Turn on iCloud on both and it follows you. If you never turned sync on, the data is in your device backup and restores with everything else.

Something crashed.

Email support@minutesfc.com with your iPhone model, the iOS version, and what you were doing. If you can, Settings → Data → Export everything as JSON and attach it — that makes most things reproducible in minutes.
